The RF Coaxial Surge Protector (RF Lightning Arrester) is a critical protective component that ensures the stable operation of modern communication systems. Installation Guide

  1. Placement: Near cable entry or device input. (e.g., router or amplifier).

  2. Orientation: Bi-directional (either way)

  3. Grounding (Most Important): Connect a copper ground wire (at least 10-12 AWG) from from the screw (on the side of the arrester body) to a ground rod. 

  4. Weatherproofing: Wrap outdoor connectors with waterproof tape.

  5. Tightening: Ensure all coaxial connectors are tightened firmly to prevent signal loss (VSWR).

FAQ

A: Yes. These arresters are built with rugged, weather-resistant materials designed for outdoor environments. However, for long-term reliability and to prevent moisture ingress into the connectors, we strongly recommend wrapping the connection points with professional weatherproofing tape (such as butyl rubber and PVC electrical tape) after installation.

A: It depends on the model. Many of our CA-33RP and N-type series feature a replaceable Gas Discharge Tube (GDT). This allows you to easily restore protection by simply unscrewing the side bolt and replacing the internal tube if it has been triggered by a surge, saving you the cost of replacing the entire unit. (Note: Please check your specific model’s specifications or contact us to confirm.)
